Brazilian international Luis Fabiano has once again opened up the possibility of a move to the Premier League, with Manchester City and Tottenham set to battle it out for the 29 year olds signature.
Despite having a great showing in South Africa at the World Cup, Fabiano has seemingly been frozen out at La Liga side Sevilla with the Brazilian resigned to a place on the bench every week despite being called ‘the best number 9 in the world’ by club president Jose Maria del Nido.
This lack for first team opportunity could force Fabiano to look elsewhere in order to get regular football and a move in the January transfer window could be a real possibility.
Tottenham made a number of attempts to sign the Brazilian earlier this summer and despite being unsuccessful, boss Harry Redknapp is ready to try again in order to gain the world class striking talent which he believes would help elevate his squad to genuine title challengers.
However, this time it is believed that Manchester City are hot on the trail of the former Sao Paulo striker as they too look to add another world class player to an already large talent pool that boasts the likes of David Silva, Yaya Toure and Carlos Tevez.
While City clearly have the financial capabilities to out bid any competitors, even though the Brazilian is ineligible, it is thought that fact Tottenham are currently in the Champions League for the first time in their history, could help sway Fabiano to join the North London side as Spurs are seemingly the more established European side out of the two.
