Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino opens up about his future amid Real Madrid links

The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern still have smiles on their faces after Wednesday night’s famous Champions League victory over Real Madrid at Wembley.

They were singing Mauricio Pochettino’s name long into the night on Wednesday and are hoping that he stays for a long time.

Since that result, question marks have surrounded Zinedine Zidane and his future at The Bernabeu – Real Madrid are well off the pace in their race to win La Liga and have had a disappointing Champions League campaign so far.

If Zidane was to be sacked, reports in the Spanish media claim that Pochettino would be one of the top choices.

However, Spurs fans do not necessarily need to worry just yet as Pochettino has revealed that he wants to stay in north London.

According to an article in The Guardian, Pochettino has revealed in an interview that he believes Tottenham is “the best club in the world” to be at.

He said: “The most important club in the world is Tottenham.

“And it is the best club in the world. I need to feel like this and that emotion is real because I cannot be fake.

“It’s too difficult to create the trust if you don’t really believe and it’s not real, that emotion.

“Today, Tottenham is in my head 100%.

“Today, I do not change Tottenham for another position in the world because I am so involved, so focused.”
