Tottenham Hotspur embarrassed Huddersfield Town at the new White Hart Lane yesterday as a hat-trick from Lucas Moura helped seal all three points.
Mauricio Pochettino will be pleased with how his side is performing at this moment in time, but that won’t stop him from adding to his squad in the summer transfer window.
Indeed, it looks as if the Spurs boss has his eye on one player in particular.
What’s the News?
According to Mail Online, Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Maxi Gomez.
Interestingly, Celta Vigo have placed a £43.5 million clause in Gomez’s contract and expect to field lower offers.
He’s produced 11 goals and five assists in the current campaign, so you can understand why Vigo are desperate to receive a hefty fee for his services in the summer.
Maxi Gomez is exactly the kind of striker who could thrive at the new White Hart Lane as his deadly finishing ability would work wonders with the likes of Son Heung-min, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen constantly feeding balls into the box. And, having Harry Kane up top alongside him would create plenty of space as the opposition’s defenders normally get dragged towards the Englishman, which will give the Uruguayan time to work his magic.
And, with Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen possibly leaving in the summer, it would make perfect sense to bring in another striker.
Of course, fans would love nothing more than to see Daniel Levy spend a large amount of money in the summer transfer window after two disappointing windows.
