As one of the hottest prospects in English football, Wilfried Zaha is a wanted man in the Football Transfer Tavern and today the Mail Online suggest that Tottenham will open talks this week for the £10 million rated Crystal Palace winger.
The 20-year-old has been the star of the Championship season so far with some impressive performances for Palace and that resulted in the Ivory Coast-born midfielder making his England debut recently.
It was thought that Manchester United were leading the race to sign Zaha but according to reports, Spurs have moved to the front of the line as they are willing to let him go back to Selhurst Park on loan for the rest of the season. Palace are desperate to keep the promising midfielder as they seek a place back in the Premier League.
However neither United nor Chelsea, who are also very interested, are ready to concede defeat in the fight for Zaha.
‘Spurs may think they’ve jumped the gun, but the deal is a long way from being completed,’ said a source close to the situation.
‘This could turn out to be the hottest transfer battle of the season and it could boil down to a question of which club does Zaha want to join.’
