Spurs Lining Up Classy Croatian To Replace Ledley King?

If there’s one thing we know about Harry Redknapp, beyond his comical ignorance of modern technology, its his ability to coax open  the wallets of even the most stringent Premiership Chairman.

As his old side Portsmouth slide further into financial peril, it appears Redknapp has lost none of his desire for frivolous spending. All this means that Daniel Levy looks set to have another summer with the mobile phone stuck more tightly to his ear than a piece of Ledley King marking.

Unsuprisingly Redknapp’s insatiable appetite for spending has made him the solution to any slow news day for tabloid journalists and gossip mongers across the world wide web of footballing transfer speculation. Rather than beginning to plan for a future free of Redknapp being able to make transfers, once he finally succumbs to his fate as England manager, it seems that the rumour merchants everywhere have gone into overdrive with Redknapp related tales of transfers.

The lastest name to be added to the production of potential spurs targets is that of Croatian defender Darijo Srna.

It seems even our friends on the continent are familiar with Redknapp’s reputation, joining in on the act stating;

“According to the Ukrainian medias, Croatian defender Darijo Srna should join Tottenham in the next transfer window.”

With Ledley King still yet to sign a new contract at Tottenham, there may be a vacancy in the Tottenham back four if this season does prove to be King’s last at White Hart Lane.

However Srna is a right-back rather than a centre-back and given the impressive performances of Kyle Walker in that position so far this season it would appearance unnecessary for Spurs’ to recruit a player who will be in his thirties come the end of the season. That said, King has recently become a liability and Spurs need to do something…
