Spurs Linked With 3 Top Players In Almost As Many Days…

Perhaps it is the influence of the International break, perhaps there is some truth in these three transfer rumours but there is certain degree of class in all three proposed targets and potentially they all fit with the Villas-Boas system.

Firstly we have Patrick Herrmann, the £7.5million-rated Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder linked to Tottenham by a whole host of media outlets. This chap is 21 and yet to really hit the big time, yet if his price tag is anything to go by iyt is felt he will do any minute. £7.5m seems a little on the expensive side to me and I would question if he offered value in an already busy midfield.

Spurs are also said to keeping tabs on the young Holland international Jordy Clasie. Hailed as the ‘Dutch Xavi’ the Daily Mail suggests that a bid of £5m would would secure a player that being a defensive midfielder would presumably step in to replace the excellent but aging Scotty Parker.

Michel Bastos is the third man and the German edition of 4-4-2.com is suggesting that a bid of €10m could land the Brazilain. But why would Spurs spend so much on a 29 year old who is unproven in the Premier League? It’s difficult to see Bastos in the same bracket Van der Vaart in an age to price ratio. It’s difficult to see this being a player that AVB getting excited about.
