Reports today suggest that Swedish left back Oscar Wendt is the latest Scandinavian set to join Liverpool. However, Harry Redknapp and Spurs may have other ideas.
Out of contract at the end of the season, Wendt, who has before expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, could be cashed in on by FC Copenhagen in January, with Liverpool and Roy Hodgson set to be first in line.
At only 25, Wendt could be the ideal competition for Paul Konchesky and Liverpool scouts have been closely monitoring the situation for some time, keeping an eye on the young left back’s performances and his contract situation.
Hodgson may have to act fast though, as Spurs are also keeping tabs on the Swedish star, and West Ham, Roma and Genoa are also keen, according to the Swedish tabloid, The Expressen. Should Red Roy act now?
