Tottenham Hotspur haven’t exactly been at their best in recent times, having suffered defeat at the hands Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United.
The North London club will still feel confident that they can secure a top four spot in the current campaign, which would have been the main aim prior to the start of this season.
Interestingly, it appears as if Mauricio Pochettino is looking to make moves this month, as according to BILD (via HITC), Tottenham have initiated contact with Borussia Monchengladbach about signing Jonas Hofmann.
Spurs have made contact with Borussia Monchengladbach over a potential deal to sign midfielder Jonas Hofmann.
However, it’s thought that Gladbach don’t want to sell, so Spurs may need to come up with a great offer to secure a deal this month.
Indeed, the recent departure of Mousa Dembele has left Pochettino’s side light on options in the middle of midfield, so a replacement will need to be found in quick time.
Hofmann may just be the man to take his place, having scored six goals and provided seven assists this season, as one of the standout midfielders in the German Bundesliga.
The German, who is valued at £10.8 million (by Transfermarkt), would be a great signing for Spurs as he could fill the void left by Dembele and has the versatility to play on either wing.
Indeed, the midfielder’s productivity in the final third will be something that is of big interest to the North London club, as they’ve relied on their attackers to produce the main load of goals this season.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
