Spurs preparing for Rose departure with 23-year-old left-back lined up – report

Tottenham supporters have been somewhat subdued in the Transfer Tavern in recent times after seeing their team only muster a 1-1 draw at home to managerless West Brom on Saturday, a result which saw them slip 13 points adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men went into their clash with the Baggies off the back of an impressive 2-1 success over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday night, a victory which clinched top spot in Group H. Yet they were unable to back that up with another win at Wembley on Saturday, as Harry Kane’s 74th minute strike cancelled out Solomon Rondon’s fourth minute opener for the visitors, with both teams in the end having to settle for a share of the spoils despite creating chances to win it.

Consequently, there have been many despondent Spurs fans in the Tavern this weekend, although their mood may be improved by a recent report from The Daily Mirror, which suggests that the North London outfit are monitoring Bologna left-back Adam Masina ahead of a possible move in January.

The 23-year-old came up through the ranks at the Italian side and has since gone on to become an integral part of their squad, appearing 110 times for the club since his senior debut back in 2014, netting four goals and laying on six assists in the process.

Yet with just 18 months left on his current deal at the Serie A side, the Italy Under-21 international faces a somewhat uncertain future, and Spurs are reportedly looking at the possibility of exploiting that in preparation for the departure of Danny Rose, who has repeatedly been linked with a move to Manchester United.

And were a deal for Rose to take place in the coming windows, Pochettino’s men could well look at Masina as the man to replace him at Wembley.

Landlord’s verdict: Danny Rose’s future at Tottenham has been subject to speculation for a while now, and that has certainly ramped up in recent weeks given that he has been left out of their last two Premier League matchday squads.

And it appears that manager Mauricio Pochettino is planning for life after the England international, as reports suggest that Spurs are keeping tabs on the progress of highly-rated Bologna full-back Adam Masina.

The Italy Under-21 international has been a regular feature for the Serie A side in recent years and could well be the long-term answer at left-back for Tottenham, and were the Premier League club ready to sell Rose in the coming windows, it could well suggest that a move to bring Masina to North London is in the offing.
