It was thought by punters in the Football Transfer Tavern that Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila was all set to become part of Harry Redknapp’s new look QPR outfit during the January transfer window.
However today Mail Online are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to challenge Harry in his pursuit of the highly-rated midfielder.
Rennes have already accepted that M’Vila will leave the club in January and as such his £20 million valuation has been sliced in half which increases the prospect of him playing in England soon.
Andre Villas-Boas will be looking for reinforcements in his midfield after the excellent Sandro was ruled out for the rest of the season and despite having Scott Parker as a back up, it is still thought that Spurs need to add to the centre of the park as they chase the all-important Champions League place.
The 22-year-old’s £8 million price tag makes his a very attractive transfer option and despite QPR still holding negotiations with M’Vila, Spurs may jump in and take the in demand Frenchman from their clutches.
Russian outfit Rubin Kazan are also thought to be interested in M’Vila and have offered large financial sums for him but it is understood that he is keen on a move to England.
