Spurs scrapping with Serie A heavyweights in bid to land talented international playmaker

Now the dreadful end to the season has seen its dust settle in the eyes of the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern, attentions can be turned to what promises to be an exciting summer.

With Champions League football on the way, the fans slumped in the bar stools on this vibrant Friday night have begun waxing lyrical about potential arrivals to White Hart Lane.

The latest of those is certainly one of the hipsters out there.

According to the Daily Mirror, Spurs are tacking Palermo playmaker Franco Vasquez with a view to making him one of their additions ahead of their return to Europe’s elite competition.

The 27-year old is a hot property in Serie A after emerging as one of the most creative outlets Rosanero have to offer, scoring eight goals and recording a further 6 assists this term.

Lazio, Juventus and Napoli are all believed to be interested in the Argentine born Italian international, though Spurs’ financial might could trounce any interest within Italy.

Vasquez’s energetic ability to operate in a variety of positions across the frontline could make him a natural fit in North London, especially in support of a central striker.

Where do Spurs need to strengthen the most this summer?
