Spurs should enter the market for Dutch defensive recruit as they bid to finally claim title

The Spurs supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been delighted with how their team has performed this season and they are now hopeful that they can edge ever closer to the top during 2017/18.

The North Londoners waved goodbye to White Hart Lane with a comfortable win over Manchester United last weekend and next season they will call Wembley home whilst their new stadium is completed.

Spurs failed to win any of their Champions League games at English football’s national stadium this season and they will be hoping for better fortunes during next season at the famous stadium.

New recruits will naturally arrive at the club during the summer months and one area in which Spurs could look to improve in is at the back and Ajax defender Joel Veltman should be at the top of the list.

The versatile performer has played the majority of his football at right-back this season and if Kyle Walker is sold in the summer, then Veltman’s arrival in the capital could be a timely one.

The 25-year-old has been part of a superb Ajax team that has reached the Europa League Final where they will face Premier League club Manchester United and his modern style of defending has not gone unnoticed.

One Spurs fan is having a game of pool here in the Tavern and he is of the belief that Veltman would represent a real step in the right direction for the club, stating that he is still young and will naturally be hungry to succeed in the Premier League.

Spurs fans, would you welcome the Dutchman to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
