Spurs should look to add more attacking options and sign this £27m-rated Napoli star

Spurs have had a slow transfer window and with little sign of new additions incoming, it could well be a worrying season ahead for Pochettino and co.

However, there is time for the club to do some business, and there are a number of players out there who might well be able to add quality to the Spurs squad as the new season draws nearer.

With Spurs already having such quality in the squad, finding players who can improve the team is difficult, but we at the Transfer Tavern think we have found a few who fit the bill.

Indeed, one player who would be an ideal signing is Belgium star Dries Mertens, who has been superb for Napoli over a number of seasons now.

The wide attacker, who is valued at a whopping £27m by Transfermarkt, has always looked ready made for the Premier League, and it is quite surprising he has not yet been snapped up by one of the big teams in the English game over the years.

Spurs need to ensure this season they take the pressure off Harry Kane, and signing players like Mertens who can add goals and assists from wide areas, would be a shrewd move.

The 31-year-old is a proven player of tremendous ability, and he would improve the Spurs squad no end if they could indeed seal a deal.

Spurs fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
