Spurs' season continued in good vain last night as they dispatched Wolves at Molineux following a thrilling late night encounter.

Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to see his side continue to play well and keep picking up points, and with the January window arriving in a couple of months, the Argentinian will no doubt be keen to bring in some new faces after such a quiet summer.

One position which has been up for debate at Spurs for some time due to various factors has been the left wing back role, where despite having Danny Rose and Ben Davies down that side, there has been rumblings that Rose could well fancy a move away from the club.

If this is the case, we at the Tavern think that the club should make a move for Crystal Palace full-back Patrick Van Aahnholt.

The Dutchman has been in superb form once again this term and has developed himself into one of the most consistent attacking defenders on the continent.

While Rose is of course quality, and Davies offers consistency, there is something about Van Aanholt which suggests he would make a big splash at a bigger club, and Spurs might be the ideal sort of club for him to move to if Rose does move on.

Electric pace and also capable of chipping in with plenty of goals and assists, Van Aanholt would represent a superb capture for Spurs if they can strike a deal.
