Spurs should look to replace Walker with this flying full back

Spurs are having a bit of a strange old summer it has to be said, sitting and watching on as their rivals seemingly splash the cash without a care in the world.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has yet to bring anyone into the club, with the biggest news of the summer being the sale of right back Kyle Walker to Man City in a deal worth over £50m for the club.

This deal has left a bit of a gap in terms of the full back position, with Kieran Trippier now the only recognised right back at the club. The Spurs fans in the Tavern though are not too concerned, and they think there is plenty of time to bring in someone to compete with Trippier.

Our landlord agrees, and one man he thinks Spurs could move for is PSG defender Serge Aurier.

The flying full back has been one of the more impressive attacking defenders in Europe for a couple of seasons now, and his form shows no sign of slowing down, leading to interest from plenty of clubs in England already.

The Ivorian is a class act down the right hand side. Powerfully built and with good pace, he is everything clubs look for in terms of a modern full back, and often plays much more like a wing back – in a similar mould to that of the departed Walker.

He would fit in at Spurs for sure though, and would no doubt be an excellent addition for the club as they prepare for a year at Wembley.
