Spurs should look to strengthen squad with addition of £40.5m-rated former Premier League man

For Spurs, the upcoming January transfer window could well represent one of the biggest ones in quite some time.

A lack of signings in the summer sent a lot of Spurs fans into panic, and with a selection of their squad already beginning to look tired, it might well be vital that Mauricio Pochettino goes out and strengthens his squad in the winter.

There is plenty of talent out there who might well fancy the move to London, with the chance of playing at a new stadium and with an exciting young team something which could have a lot of draw.

Indeed, one player we at the Transfer Tavern think would be a superb addition is former Man United flop Memphis Depay, who has seriously found his feet in France during a spell with Lyon.

19 goals last season for the £40.5m-rated winger really enhanced his reputation further, and he would surely love another crack at the English game to show everyone that he should not simply be remembered for a poor spell at Old Trafford.

Depay has made himself one of the most sought after names in Europe now, and still only 24-years-old, it’s not like he still doesn’t have any time on his side in order to develop even further.

The Dutchman is a different player to that we saw previously in the Premier League, and he would enhance and improve a Spurs squad which is desperately lacking in depth.

Spurs fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
