Spurs had a summer to forget in terms of their summer transfer activity, with manager Mauricio Pochettino failing to bring in any new signings.

A minor blip in form though was put to bed this weekend as they dispatched struggling Huddersfield with ease, as Harry Kane found his form to give the Londoners a boost in their Premier League season that was much needed.

However, despite the lack of signings at the club, there is still a few players in the Spurs squad who we here at the Tavern think are simply not up to it, and if Spurs can, they should look to move them on.

One such player who falls into this category is England midfielder Eric Dier, who despite being a regular for the club, does simply not look up to being a player who can take Spurs to the sort of success their loyal fans crave.

However, Dier is still valued highly by some, and Transfermarkt value the player at a whopping £40m.

It's a fee that defies belief really, and if Spurs can get someone to splash that sort of cash on Dier, then they should snap their hands off and reinvest the money elsewhere in the squad.

Often looking slow and lumbersome in posession, Dier did nothing in the summer for England either as his stock continues to appear to fall. If Spurs can indeed get someone to make a big money bid for the midfielder, then they should 100% look to show him the door.

Spurs fans, do you agree? Would you sell Dier? Let us know in the comments!
