According to the Daily Express, Tottenham are to make an audacious attempt to sign Real Madrid star Kaka on loan in the January transfer window. Kaka started the season in sparkling form and looked like the player that was returning to his effervescent best. However due to his recurring injury woes, it could force Madrid into selling the Brazilian magician.
Kaka would be more than just a great addition to Tottenham, but we are not living in a fantasy world. Why would the former Fifa world player of the year leave Madrid for North London?
Even as a Spurs fan, while it’s nice to believe in such speculation, let’s be realistic about this. We may have two players who know the feeling of playing for Los Blancos, but having a third may just be a tad too far. A player of Kaka’s statue is out of our reach and if we did manage to pull this off it probably would be the greatest signing in Tottenham’s history; but then again who are we kidding?
The Daily express go on to say that Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his squad by adding more attacking flair as cover for Van Der Vaart.
So let me get this straight, we sign the third most expensive player in the world for him to sit on the bench. Just makes you want to rip your hair out when you hear such baloney. They go on to say that if Tottenham are to seal the deal they would have to give Madrid some sort of reassurance that once the Welsh wizard Gareth Bale is made available, Madrid would get first look in.
If there is any transfer activity during the January transfer period, it will be on trying to land another defender and striker in which we lack in strength and depth. Kaka is wishful thinking, and more focus should be on realistic buys that will help bring a spark to the team.
