Spurs told they will have to pay more than double the value for striker this summer

The Tottenham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate for manager Mauricio Pochettino to get things going this summer, with the Manchester clubs and Arsenal already having announced deals so far.

With that in mind, the north Londoners have been told what it will take to land Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz this summer.

According to reports from Madrid based newspaper Marca, the back-to-back Champions League winners will command €15m (around £13m) for the £4.25m-rated forward, who was linked with a move to Spurs last month.

The 23-year-old played a total of 302 minutes of first team football across 14 appearances last season, which our landlord reckons points to a no go for Pochettino.

The former Southampton boss will be looking to improve on his record in the Champions League next season, and in order to do that will need to add quality depth to his side.

Whilst Diaz may well be a talented player, Pochettino will need established first team options to rotate throughout the season as opposed to ones he’s giving a chance to.

Spurs fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think Poch should move for Diaz? What better options are there on the market? Let us know in the comments below…
