It’s been a huge summer in terms of transfer spending but we’re still waiting for Jurgen Klopp to make a huge statement in terms of Liverpool’s activity.
The Reds fans lining the bar here in the pub have been pleased with the signings they’ve seen so far but feel that more quality will certainly be needed for the team to compete towards the top of the table come the end of the campaign.
Of course, a big part of any Liverpool success will be keeping hold of some of their best players moving forward and one man they simply must keep hold of is attacking midfielder Phillipe Coutinho.
The Brazilian attacker has been one of Liverpool’s biggest players for a while now but according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are growing increasingly confident they can wrap up a deal to bring him to the Nou Camp.
The outlet suggests that Barcelona bosses are confident a deal could be completed as early as Tuesday, which would mark a staggering turnaround for a player Liverpool were insistent they didn’t want to sell.
Their latest offer would set the Catalonian club back by around £90.2million as they look to bring in a player to replace Neymar, who left for PSG earlier this week.
Liverpool cannot and must not sell Coutinho, who has been one of their biggest players for the past few years.
Barcelona will be more desperate to bring him in more than ever after getting rid of Neymar but he’s not worth any amount of money in terms of the importance and performances he gives the Reds.
