Jose Mourinho is adored by Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern but after the latest claim from Metro, there are a couple who are not too happy with the Special One.
After seeing his Blues side beat Queens Park Rangers courtesy of an Eden Hazard penalty and a sublime Oscar goal, Mourinho made it very clear that not only was he very unhappy with the players at times during the game but that the fans did not exactly make him smile either.
He did make it clear that he felt a special bond with the Blues fans but noted that they had to do more to make the Stamford Bridge atmosphere more enduring for away sides to come and play amidst.
Mourinho noted: “At this moment it’s difficult for us to play at home though, because playing here is like playing in an empty stadium.
“The team then starts playing like it’s a quiet, soft game at home. It’s difficult to get that strong start where the players, team and fans at Stamford Bridge [are all together].
“I was today looking around and it was empty, but not in terms of people because it was obviously full. That’s what frustrating.”
As our regulars note, at least Chelsea can fill their stadium full unlike Manchester City at times but we think that the Blues fans do need to do far more in order to live up to their manager’s expectations and make sure that they do not turn into the prawn sandwich brigade!
Chelsea fans. Has Stamford Bridge been far too quiet for your liking of late? Does Mourinho have a point? Let us know your thoughts below.
