Standout midfielder pens new deal in Spain

IscoThere is a collective sigh around the Football Transfer Tavern as it is discovered that Malaga’s most wanted player has penned a new deal at the La Rosaleda-based club according to TEAMtalk.

Not only has Isco committed his future to the La Liga side, but he has also agreed to a £30 million buy out clause, which will come of interest to the trio of Premier League clubs who were after the starlet. Manchester City, Spurs and Chelsea were all thought to be interested in the midfielder and will now have to pay a considerable amount more to land the player should they see fit in the future.

The club claimed that the 20-year-old is: “A world class player and flies the flag for Malaga. If I had to sum up Isco’s contract renewal in one word, it would be ‘trust’, both in terms of the faith we have in him as a player, and the trust he has in Malaga as a club, disregarding his other options and putting us first.”

They also confirmed that there has been interest in the player, noting: “There have been some informal conversations, as well as more serious talks, with some of the biggest clubs in the world getting in contact every few weeks.”

The player himself told the clubs website: “I’m so grateful for the faith Malaga has in me, and I have every confidence in the team, and my ability to keep growing as a player.” The deal does not extend the midfielder’s contract beyond its three-and-a-half year term but does include the buy out clause and improves Isco’s salary.
