Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted to watch Jordan Pickford’s heroics at the World Cup with England.

After the Toffees goalkeeper produced some excellent saves against Colombia, his form continued against Sweden. The ex-Sunderland man was fantastic again and cemented his place as England’s number one for the foreseeable future. Our punters are hoping his form continues when he returns to Goodison Park.

There has been no new signings at the club since Marco Silva took over. Everton need to offload some players before they can add to their squad. Midfielder, Morgan Schneiderlin, is expected to leave the club. His move from Manchester United has not gone to plan, and he should be replaced.

The perfect replacement would be Sevilla lynchpin – Steven N'Zonzi. Valued at £27m by Transfermarkt, the Frenchman is currently on international duty with France and has made three appearances at the World Cup. He is no stranger to England after spells with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke in the past.

The 29-year-old has blossomed into one of the top defensive midfielders in the world during his time in La Liga and is a great replacement for Schneiderlin. Already accustomed to life in the Premier League, he is the ideal signing to kickstart the Silva era.

Everton fans, thoughts?
