And it now seems they have their answer as according to The Daily Star the former Chelsea and Aston Villa midfielder has joined Stoke City after he was released by Fulham.
The 31-year-old left Craven Cottage after Fulham’s relegation, and he has signed for the Potters on a two-year deal.
The midfielder had no qualms about playing in the Championship and insisted that he would help Felix Magath’s men regain their Premier League status.
But the West London side decided to end the midfielders contract in order to cut the wage bill.
Southampton, West Ham and West Brom were thought to be among many suitors for Sidwell but the chance to link up with Mark Hughes again proved too tempting.
Sidwell was signed by Hughes when he was in charge at Fulham.
