Stoke City fans in the Transfer Tavern have reserved a bottle of champagne, after some exciting updates from the most reputable source there is.
Potters boss Mark Hughes confirmed a move for Giannelli Imbula is back on, with Stoke confident of smashing their record transfer fee today and bring the player into the club from Portuguese giants Porto.
In his pre-match press conference today, Hughes gave a positive update on the transfer front and suggested a deal will be completed today.
“Talks have been progressing. Hopefully by the end of the day we’ll be able to annouce something. It was seemingly a little bit difficult, but it’s progressed and we hope we will be able to announce a big signing.”
“He’s travelling as we speak and we hope to get done today.”
It’s another major deal for Stoke, who enjoyed a successful summer window by adding the likes of Ibrahim Affellay and Xherdan Shaqiri to their talented squad- and out landlord believes the signing of Imbula will take the Potters to the next level.
