Stoke City boss adamant key player won’t be sold

ButlandStoke City fans having a friendly game of darts in The Transfer Tavern are discussing comments made by their manager with regards to their goalkeeper, which they’re very pleased with.

The Daily Star is reporting that manager Mark Hughes has made a bold statement to ward of any potential bidders for England international Jack Butland, stating that the player is not for sale at any price.

22-year-old Butland has been in fine form for Stoke this season since taking over the number one jersey from Asmir Begovic, who left the club for Chelsea in the summer.

Hughes laughed off rumours that Butland could be set for a £20 million move away from the club saying:

“He’s not going anywhere. People are aware of him and have been for a long time. I wouldn’t even place a value on him.”

The Stoke City fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted with their manager’s comments, and hope the player continues to put in the standard of performances they have become accustomed to so far this season.

Stoke fans, should Butland be England number 1? Let us know in the comments below!
