The West Bromwich Albion fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that they could be set to lose a member of their squad this summer.
According to reports in The Telegraph, striker Saido Berahino has rejected the offer of a new four-year deal at The Hawthorns and wants to leave the club this summer.
The striker was reportedly offered a new £55,000 a week contract to remain at the club and make him the club’s top earner, though he has no intention in signing the new deal on offer.
The news will encourage interested club’s Stoke City and Watford into making a bid for the striker, as both sides look to boost their striking options for next season.
Over the past year or so, the England under-21 star has seen his relationship with top brass at the Baggies growing ever more strained, following failed moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.
With news that Berahino is to reject the deal in the Midlands and the club will reportedly be looking for a bid of around £20 million for the player who has a year left to run on his contract with the club.
Should West Brom give up on Berahino?
