The Stoke City fans in the Transfer Tavern were over the moon after they reversed a run of four straight defeats to triumph over Huddersfield Town in the Premier League yesterday. In Paul Lambert’s first game in charge, the Potters were able to pick up three points which saw them climb out of the relegation zone.
And the Stoke fans in the Transfer Tavern are curious to see who Paul Lambert brings in this window. New players are needed at The Bet365 Stadium to bolster the squad ahead of the relegation battle.
According to Goal, Stoke City have submitted a bid to sign Jack Harrison from New York City FC. Harrison is one of the best young players in the MLS, having moved to the United States at the age of 14.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United schoolboy could be set for a return to England, though, with Stoke hoping to offer him Premier League football. After seeing a $3m bid rejected, Stoke have returned with an improved offer of $4.5m which could rise to $6m with add ons.
The England under-21 international plays as a winger and he already has over 50 appearances for New York under his belt despite being just 21-years-old.
Jack Harrison is a very bright prospect who has taken an unusual route to footballing stardom. But the 21-year-old needs to leave the MLS if his career is to progress. Stoke can offer him Premier League football and the chance to move forward with his career.
