Stoke City have opened up talks with West Bromwich Albion over the sale of striker Saido Berahino, according to The Guardian.
The Potters have bid £15 million for the striker and it is thought that the England under-21 international is heading ever closer to the exit door at the Hawthorns.
The 22-year-old could sign for Mark Hughes’ men before the start of pre-season and would be a real statement of intent for the club.
The Stoke City fans here in the Transfer Tavern have heard about the news and they are excited about the prospect of Berahino arriving at the Britannia Stadium in the summer.
One Potters fan is in the Tavern feeling a little worse for wear after the England v Wales game and he thinks that Berahino could score the goals to finally edge Stoke into the European qualification places in the Premier League.
Another is chatting with the landlord this evening and he is unreserved over the signing, citing issues with the player’s application and attitude as the reason why the deal could prove a wrong one.
Stoke City fans, would you welcome Berahino to the club? Who else should you sign this summer?
