Stoke City have gotten off to a steady enough start to the Premier League campaign this term under Mark Hughes as the club slowly makes progress year on year.
Under the former Manchester City and Blackburn manager, the club have been undergoing somewhat of a transition away from the era of Tony Pulis, and Hughes will be pleased with the progress he has seen on the pitch so far during his tenure.
Our landlord here at the Tavern though thinks that there could be even further improvement in the squad in January, especially in the forward areas, and one player he thinks could give the club a boost if given the chance is Celtic man Leigh Griffiths.
The Scot has been a regular scorer for the Bhoys for years now and has been in and among the goals this season once again, while his form for Scotland has also been of note.
He is a player who might well deserve a chance in the Premier League, and there is little doubting he has excellent finishing ability which could transcend into the English game if he is given the opportunity. The signing of Saido Berahino has not yet paid off, and offering someone like Griffiths a chance in the top flight is something which could pay off for the Potters.
Stoke fans, what do you think? Would Griffiths fit in? Let us know!
