Transfer rumours and activity are really starting to heat up now as move into midday lots of deals are emerging from the football community.
Stoke City fans are milling around the Tavern waiting to hear if they are going to be signing anybody today, with a number of names on their lips.
The Potters are closing in a deal to land midfielder Giannelli Imbula from Porto in a£14million club record deal, according to The Telegraph.
The French under 21 international has been earmarked as a replacement for Steven N’Zonzi, which has left a void yet to be filled in Mark Hughes’s midfield.
Stoke had made the offer on Friday but talks had broken down, as the clubs were poles apart on the deal, but Hughes admiration for the young Frenchman has seen Stoke come back in for further talks with Porto and hope to seal the deal before the deadline passes.
Hughes has been tracking the defensive midfielder since he impressed while playing against Stoke in a pre-season friendly over the summer.
The £14 million fee would break the club transfer record, which was set in the last window with the arrival of £12million Xherdan Shaqiri.
