In news that has got Manchester City fans here at the Football Transfer Tavern all in a flutter, the Daily Mirror claim that one of their strikers could be set to leave the club in the summer.
The Citizens have already had to face the loss and subsequent return to form of Mario Balotelli and now face losing Edin Dzeko in the summer also. The Bosnian forward has grown tired at sitting on the bench and is willing to look for a move elsewhere – potentially back to the Bundesliga where he was so successful for Wolfsburg.
Borussia Dortmund could well be on the lookout for a striker in the summer and Dzeko would understandably not be against a move back to Germany. After it became increasingly clear that Dzeko is the last choice first team striker at the club despite him netting on a regular basis, the player claimed: “I love the Bundesliga and I will return to the Bundesliga. The only thing I don’t know is when.”
He also hit out at speculation over transfer rumours, noting that: “There is a lot of talk and a lot is written. If you believed every word, I’d be playing at FC Bayern or AC Milan by now. Dortmund are a top club. Everyone in Europe can see that and with Jurgen Klopp, they have a great coach working there.”
