Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are reacting diversely to the latest speculation regarding their search for a new manager, with many ordering their rounds stating their unconvinced by the possibility of being led by the latest name linked to the job.
The Sun states former Chile boss Jorge Sampaoli is back in the frame for the position at Chelsea, which becomes vacant in the summer after Guus Hiddink finishes his temporary role in charge of the West London outfit.
Less regarded than other Chelsea targets, which include Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone, Sampaoli is being considered once again as Chelsea hit complications in their quest to land other top-targets.
Sampaoli was named South American Coach of the Year after leading Chile to a famous Copa America victory last summer, the first time the nation has lifted the prestigious honour, but he’s considered an abrasive manager and he doesn’t speak English.
Our landlord feels appointing Sampaoli would be a major risk from the Blues and he doesn’t feel that Chelsea are in a position to be able to take such a gamble, with the competitiveness in the Premier League continuing to increase.
Chelsea fans, would you like Sampaoli as your next boss? Let us know in the comments below!
