The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reading a story in Daily Mail, that claims man of the match, Gareth Bale spent 20 minutes in the Liverpool changing room straight after the final whistle in Kiev. The Welshman scored two goals off the bench as Los Blancos beat the Reds 3-1, with Liverpool ‘keeper, Loris Karius practically throwing the ball into his own net twice.
Fair play – top man – unlike his team-mates https://t.co/gSN2QIlcCV

Looking back, Liverpool had an average season. The Reds failed to win a trophy and only secured Champions League football on the last day of the season, despite being in the top four for most of the year. However, things could have been so different if those 90 minutes in Kiev had been mistake-free. Karius’ errors gave Zinedine Zidane, and Gareth Bale, his third Champions League in as many years, as Real Madrid stamped their names in European history.
However, despite Bale’s incredible performance and European pedigree, the star was humble enough to console the German ‘keeper that he tormented during the match, spending twenty minutes in Liverpool’s dressing room with former Southampton teammate, Adam Lallana and calamity Karius. Bale looks to be on his way out of Madrid this summer after five years at The Bernabeu and whilst it’s unlikely that he’ll be heading to Anfield, the Kopites will have gained some respect for the ex-Spurs man for actions on Saturday night.
You can read our resident Reds’ verdict on Bale here:
I gotta admit, I am no fan of Bale but stuff lige this just wins me over. Football are all about feelings.

Well done Bale. But a bit harsh having a dig at the team. They lost a CL final too.

Classy person. Not many in that Madrid side.

He's such a likable fella

Not great by the players, but in the heat of the moment, after such a loss, I'd give the benefit of the doubt. Also, easy to be the nice fella when you win.

Since when is the other team obliged to console the losing team. Fairplay to Bale nonetheless
