Fernando Torres love him or hate, rate him or slate him his talent is quickly becoming enigmatic. One day his performances are producing referances to barn doors and banjos while the next he’s effortlessly sloting home a brace of goals.
These glimpses of the Spaniard’s once supreme talent have been enough to tempt Italian giants Juventus into making a cheeky £24 million bid for the Chelsea frontman, reports The Mirror .
As Chelsea build for the future following the exit of Didier Drogba, after the completion of the Roman revolution’s end goal when the dream of Champions League glory finally became a reality, the club need a reliable source of goals more than ever. The question is whether Fernando Torres can be trusted to be that source.
With Hazard already having made his way through the door at Stamford Bridge marked arrivals and Porto’s Hulk likely to join him, the blues need a man who can guarentee goals to ease the pressure on the new signings as they adapt to life in English football.
Thus far during his Chelsea career the formerly prolific fontman has offered little evidence that he can be that man. However of late he has looked the closest to the Fernando Torres of old we’ve seen during his time in London. He’s certaintly shown enough not to merit Chelsea parting company with his services at a 50% reduction to the price they paid Liverpool.
From Juve’s point of view if they wish to start bringing back the Stellar names of World football to Italy’s top division their going to have to get serious when it comes to transfer fees.
