It’s been an exciting few months for Liverpool. After a brilliant campaign last season, things got better for Jurgen Klopp when Fabinho arrived from Monaco. He was then followed by Alisson, Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita, and heading into the next campaign, the Reds now look to be in a much better spot.
With the transfer window now closed, Klopp has run out of time to further improve his squad, but that doesn’t mean that Liverpool fans won’t see one or two more new faces at Anfield this term.
Indeed, Klopp is still able to call on players that are already at the club, and so throughout the campaign, if he’s needing something a little bit different, he could turn to one of the players within Liverpool’s talented youth academy.
One such example is young Rhian Brewster, and he could provide Jurgen Klopp with just what he needs over the next year.
Rhian Brewster burst onto the scene as a part of England’s under-17 World Cup winning squad, with the forward playing a starring role. The Englishman bagged a remarkable 8 goals, cementing him as the Golden Boot winner. Naturally, then, he knows exactly where the net is, but that’s not all that he brings.
The Englishman is brilliant with the ball at his feet, with dribbling whilst making use of his excellent pace a real core component of his game. He’s also good at simply linking-up play, as he’s just as good with his back away from goal as he is when facing it.
Naturally, then, he knows exactly where the net is, but that’s not all that he brings.
He’s fairly unique in the Liverpool squad at present, given that whilst Firmino is a tremendous striker, he’s not exactly a natural goalscorer. Indeed, he’s far more of a team player, and so Brewster could have a role to play over the course of the next season. If the Reds need a goal, they’d struggle to find someone more adept at bagging them one – even if he does lack experience.
It could be a huge season for young Brewster.
