‘Sunday league team’ – Liverpool fans aren’t surprised as stat puts bad form into perspective

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been busy drowning their sorrows today…

After suffering another defeat against Leicester City last night, things couldn’t be much worse for our resident Reds.

Despite enjoying a productive summer, and perhaps most significantly, holding on to Philippe Coutinho, things have all gone downhill in recent weeks.

Out of the Carabao Cup and seemingly out of luck in the Premier League, a rapid turnarund is needed, but if Liverpool’s form is anything to go by, that will be a struggle for Jurgen Klopp.

Indeed, when the numbers are crunched, the true severity of their dip in form can be realised, with a recent stat suggesting that Liverpool have had just 1 goal from 56 efforts in the last two games.

It highlights that Liverpool’s problems aren’t just at the back, but rather, in front of goal too.

Unsurprisingly, the Liverpool fans online aren’t very happy about this, with many taking to Reddit to rue the stat.
