Sunderland and Everton hoping to secure deal for out of favour Liverpool target man

Premier League duo Sunderland and Everton are battling it out to sign Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, with the Belgian striker likely to depart the Reds during the transfer window.

The news that has been spotted by our landlord in The Mirror has excited fans of the two clubs here in the Transfer Tavern with both clubs looking to land striking targets before the big kick-off.

It is likely that Liverpool will want to sell the forward, although with a price-tag of around £30 million, it is more probable that Everton and Sunderland will look to press ahead with loan moves instead.

Benteke endured a miserable season during 2015/16 after a big money move to Liverpool and German boss Jurgen Klopp looks set to offload the powerful striker.

One Sunderland fan is sat chatting with an Everton fan in the smoking area of the Tavern and both are in agreement that Benteke would improve their current squads, although the Toffees supporter does believe that signing the striker would signal the end of Romelu Lukaku’s Everton career.

Everton and Sunderland fans, would you welcome Benteke to your club? What would he offer you next season? How much would you be willing to see your side pay? Let us know in the comments below!!!
