Sunderland fans in the Football Transfer Tavern will be keen to know that their club are targeting a move for Diafra Sakho after his transfer to West Brom fell through at the last minute yesterday.
The West Ham striker looked dead-set to join the Baggies after the two clubs agreed a transfer and the player went for a medical. But at the last minute the deal fell through and the move was announced as a no-go online, much to the annoyance of the Boing-Boing Baggies, who thought the move was a dead cert.
But reports coming from the Northern Echo suggest that David Moyes is now lining up a move for the Senegalese international striker, who could partner Jermaine Defoe in attack for the upcoming season.
And striking options will be a priority for former Man United manager David Moyes, who feels his new side are a little light on the ground when it comes to forward options ahead of the new season.
Besides Jermain Defoe, their only other striking options are Fabio Borini and Duncan Watmore so the Scotsman will be keen to bring in a couple of new faces before the season begins.
Sunderland’s first game of the season will see them travel to Man City next Saturday and the Black Cats in the Transfer Tavern will be keen to see them bring home a result, with or without Diafra Sakho on the books!
Sunderland fans, we want to hear from you! What do you make of this deal? What would Sakho bring to your attack? Let us know below…
