The Sunderland fans in The Transfer Tavern are taking part in darts tournament and discussing reports that the club are in talks to add another player to their squad.
The Sunderland Echo is reporting that the Premier League strugglers are still interested in bringing L’Orient defender Lamine Kone to the club.
It was reported that the Wearsiders had pulled out of the deal to bring Kone to the club, following the signing of Bayern Munich defender Jan Kirchoff, a move which resulted in the club being called unprofessional by their French counterparts.
But it now appears that Sam Allardyce has had a rethink and wants the defender to join the club on loan with view to a permanent deal in the summer.
Following Saturday’s defensive horror show during a 4-1 defeat against Spurs, Allardyce knows that his squad lacks depth defensively.
Those Sunderland fans in The Tavern are pleased that the club are looking at defensive reinforcements and hope to see a more solid performance at the back during the sides next fixture.
