Sunderland have been the form team in League One recently as they continue to push towards securing automatic promotion straight back to the Championship.
The Black Cats are a force to be reckoned with in League One this season and don’t look like slowing down any time soon, with Jack Ross focused on securing promotion. And, to make things even better, it appears as if the Scotsman is looking at potential additions, as according to Football Insider, Sunderland are interested in Joe Willock.
Sunderland are hoping to beat a number of rivals to the January loan signing of Arsenal starlet Joe Willock.
And, it’s understood that Sunderland watched Willock in action for Arsenal’s Under-23s last week and are lining up a deal in January as they look to strengthen their squad to aid their push for promotion back to the Championship.
However, they face competition from several Championship and Dutch and French sides for England Under-20 international Willock.
Joe Willock has a bright future ahead of him at the Emirates and has already shown his class in the red shirt, but a move to the Stadium of Light would provide him with regular minutes and the opportunity to progress.
The Black Cats already have a number of central midfielders at their disposal, but bringing the youngster to the club would offer a different dynamic.
