The Sunderland fans who are competing in a darts tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that the club face competition to bring in a midfield target this summer.
The Sunderland Echo is reporting that the Premier League side face competition from Malaga as they hope to persuade Clement Chantome to move to England this summer.
The Bordeaux midfielder is out of contract with the Ligue 1 side at the end of June and impressive performances for his current club.
The Premier League side have had the midfielder watched on numerous occasions in recent weeks and are keen to delve into the French market once more following the successful signings of Whabi Khazri and Lamine Kone in January.
Our landlord in The Tavern believes that Chantome is one of those players who gives his all and would be an excellent acquisition for Sam Allardyce this summer.
As for the Sunderland fans they know very little about the 28 year old but are confident that the midfielder must have something about him for Allardyce to be interested.
Will this be a good addition for Sunderland? Let us know in the comments below!
