Sunderland fans on Twitter react to seeing Newcastle-supporter volunteering at Stadium of Light

Sunderland are currently undergoing a seat change at the Stadium of Light. They’ve been relying on volunteers and supporters to come into the stadium and change the seats over and after the latest batch of volunteers helped out, they shared a picture of the group on their Twitter, with one girl clearly wearing a Newcastle United top in the shot.

In the Black Cats tweet, there is no mention of the girl in question, but it couldn’t be more obvious that she’s wearing the shirt belonging to the club’s biggest rivals. Sunderland fans have been taking to Twitter to point it out and have their say and whilst you’d understand it if there was some frustration, they’ve taken it quite well, with most of them claiming that the girl is only wearing the shirt because it was Haloween yesterday.

If things keep going the way they are, Sunderland could be playing Newcastle sooner than they thought in the Championship. The Magpies look destined for the drop after they’ve failed to win their first ten games in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Sunderland are finding their feet after suffering a double-relegation and are looking at promotion from League One, currently sitting 3rd in the table.

The Mackems have taken the Newcastle shirt quite well and will just hope they can beat the Magpies if they do face them in the Championship next season.
