Bournemouth fans are looking giddy in the Football Transfer whilst Sunderland fans are dreading the worst as they currently sit in the relegation zone.
According to the Mirror, Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe is looking to sign the Black Cats’ striker Jermain Defoe if they are relegated at the end of the season.
Sam Allardyce and his players rely heavily on the goals provided by the 33-year-old as he has netted 13 goals for the struggling side.
But if his goals cannot keep Sunderland afloat, he could make the trip down south to join the Cherries, where he netted in 10 consecutive games as a teenager.
Howe has been assured by Bournemouth’s new owner Russian owner Maxim Demin that he will have plenty of funds available.
And once the Cherries had secured their place in the top flight for next season, Howe has supposedly constructed a list of potential transfer targets with Defoe at the top.
Our resident Bournemouth fans here in the Tavern think Defoe would be a fantastic signing for the south coast club, and would be a perfect partner for the likes of Benik Afobe and Callum Wilson upfront.
