Sunderland fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t quite understand what exactly is going on at their club, after sensational news emerged today following a major turn of events.
David Moyes’ resignation from the Black Cats came as no surprise, following the club’s relegation from the Premier League, but the Scottish manager is still set to have a say in the future of the Wearside outfit.
Spending over 100 days bottom of the Premier League this season, Moyes left yesterday and it sparked the latest failing in his managerial career over the past few years – following disappointing stints with Manchester United and Real Sociedad.
Despite his failings in Sunderland though, The Daily Mail reports that Moyes will have an input as to who his successor at the Stadium of Light is as the Black Cats seek an immediate return to the top flight of English football.
Sunderland are now seeking their sixth manager in just four years and our landlord believes Moyes’ input doesn’t guarantee an impressive solution, as he’s questioning why an ex-boss will still have a say in the club.
