Sunderland fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are preparing themselves for a mass exodus this summer as Sam Allardyce looks to transform his side.
According to the Sunderland Echo, Wigan are pursuing Black Cats midfielder Jordi Gomez after he left Latics two years ago.
Gomez is set to face this chop this summer and is one of several players who the club are tying to offload.
He spent the second half of last season at Blackburn and the Championship new-boys Wigan have held talks with the former player and are looking to bring him back to the DW Stadium.
They will fancy their chances of signing him as he only has one year left of his current contract and he seems to have no future at the club under Allardyce.
Sunderland fans. What have you made of Jordi Gomez’s two years at The Stadium of Light? Let us know your thoughts below.
