Sunderland plan to make experienced striker first Allardyce addition

Andy CarrollSunderland fans in the Transfer Tavern could be getting pretty excited at this news, after Goal reported that manager Sam Allardyce wants to make West Ham United striker Andy Carroll his first signing.

Carroll of course previously spent many years at Sunderland’s rivals Newcastle, before moving to Liverpool and then West Ham.

Though this might not go down too well with some fans at the Stadium of Light, it would be hard to say that it wouldn’t be a good signing for the Black Cats.

With Diafra Sakho very much the main forward now at Upton Park, Carroll may look for a move in order to get some first team football under his belt, before the European Championships in the summer.

West Ham are also allegedly willing to make a loss on Carroll, and could accept bids as low as £8m.

Though he played for your rivals, would this be a good signing for you Sunderland fans? Let us know in the comments below!!
