Sunderland return to complete deal for Lorient defender

Allardyce has done it with an unfancied side before Sunderland currently lie four points adrift of Premier League safety which has given the Black Cats supporters here in the Transfer Tavern cause for concern.

Whilst scoring goals is not a massive problem for Sam Allardyce’s side, keeping them out definitely is which has seen Big Sam try his hand in the transfer market to recruit defensive options.

A couple of Sunderland fans are having a leisurely evening pint when they come across an article written by The Chronicle, which says a move for Lorient defender Lamine Kone could be back on the cards.

A £5 million move broke down a fortnight ago but Sunderland have now reignited a move with sources close to the club stating that a renewed move is ‘a real possibility.’

Sunderland will be desperate to ensure that they do not slip into the Championship and Kone could be just the player that Allardyce needs to guide his side to Premier League survival.

Sunderland fans… What do you make of Kone? Let us know in the comments below!
