The Sunderland fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing comments made by one of their players about a promising youngster at the club.
The Chronicle is reporting that Vito Mannone was full of praise for young goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and has tipped him for a bright future in the game.
The talented youngster has spent time away from the Stadium of Light on loan at Preston North End but was recalled by Sam Allardyce, following the sale of Costel Pontillaman during the transfer window. Speaking about Pickford’s bright future, Mannone said:
“At any club I’ve been, there’s been capable keepers around me. But I’m focused on me, really. Jordan has got a big future, but I want to help the team and club stay in the Premier League.”
The Sunderland fans in The Tavern are delighted with Mannone’s comments and agree that the youngster is one hell of a talent who they are keen to see make his mark with the club.
