Everyone in the Football Transfer Tavern agrees it has been a dismal start to the season for Sunderland fans.
Supporters in the Tavern were reduced to watching their latest defeat to Norwich from behind the pool table, such was the embarrassing nature of their defending.
Dick Advocaat’s side are the early favourites for relegation, and the experienced manager has a huge task in convincing players to help the cause at the Stadium of Light in the final stretch of the transfer window.
And reports from the Daily Mirror suggest he is setting his sights higher than many would have expected, with Brazilian forward and former AC Milan star Alex Pato a transfer target.
Pato has been playing in his homeland with Corinthians since 2012, but the Brazilian giants insist he will be sold this summer.
Sunderland have emerged as one of the potential suitors according to reports, however the Black Cats are yet to make a formal offer.
Despite conceding seven goals in their opening two matches, Advocaat is looking to strengthen his attack first and foremost having already sold Connor Wickham to Crystal Palace this summer.
